In 1945, when Natalie was 12 years old, she was liberated; however, she didn’t realize she was being liberated because she was in hiding at the time. After liberation, she could not remember her birthday, which is why she does not know the exact date of when she was born.
After the war, Natalie eventually made her way to Canada, starting a new chapter in her life far from the horrors she had endured.
